The Color Purple is a classic....I use to be able to quote many lines from the movie, but I need to refresh my memory....if you haven't seen it you should!
I'm not sure if this is correct, but here goes:

Sorry Amanda...I just took notice to your comment, unfortunately, I don't remember. I just read the book again recently, it is in there, but I don't believe its said in that exact way. I got that line from the movie;)
